Crescent Dunes NV
Crescent dunes is a 3000 acre dune area open to ohv's and visible from highway 95 a few miles north of Tonopah. This small dune area is often left unused by many but used by local riders. There are no signs and the area feels very remote. The elevation here is 5032 feet and can be quite cold in the winter. As with most dunes come prepared.
Getting There:
From Tonopah go north on highway 95 towards Hawthorne for 4.6 miles. Turn right on Pole Line Rd. (how many of those roads are there??!!) Go north for about nine miles and turn right on a dirt road leading to the dunes. The camping area is two miles in, next to the first large crescent shaped dune.
