    OHV Information

 

  • Bear Valley OHV Loop Trail:
    This 18 mile loop is located across from the entrance to Bear Valley Campground which is 6 miles east of Hwy 89 (17 miles north of Truckee). This trail offers something for everyone from easy to most difficult routes and great views of the surrounding mountains. Use caution in the Cottonwood Fire area as trees may fall on or near the trail at any time.

 

  • Fordyce OHV Trail:
    Most difficult; access from Meadow Lake or I-80 at the Eagle Lakes Exit.

 

 

  OHV use is limited to Forest Service roads and/or designated OHV routes. Use is prohibited within developed recreation areas (Jackson Meadows Recreation Area) and on paved roads or highways.

  OHVs are required to have either a California green sticker OR valid state off highway vehicle registration, OR a non-resident user permit, as well as a USFS approved spark arrestor year round.

ATV users: Helmets are required and NO passengers are allowed.
