Unity, OR
The Unity OHV Trail provides approximately 60 miles of primitive back country riding experience. It is designed for riding four and three-wheel all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, and mountain bikes. Equestrians and hikers also share the trail. The trail extends from Elk Creek Campground (8 mi. W of Unity), north to Blue Springs Summit (on the Sumpter-Granite Highway). The route travels through dense forests, sagebrush-covered landscape and rocky fields. The trail is classified from EASY to MOST DIFFICULT in degree of expertise. Alternate routes around DIFFICULT sections of the trail offers less challenging options.
Access:
Elk Creek Campground (access via Forest Road 600, Forest Road 6005): Dispersed camping. Picnic tables and toilets. Potable water not available. $5.00 fee. Attractions: hiking, fishing, group camping, nature trail and ATV trail access.
Getting There:
Go 12 miles northwest of unity oan highway 26. Blue spring summit provides a day use staging area on the sumpter-granite highway.
