Marysville mx Ride Review

Marysville mx is located in marysville just outside yuba city, for directions you can go to www.marysvillemx.com  It is not to hard to get to, I got a little turned around trying to get out but that was my mistake. I have never ridden on a track before so this is the perspective of a first timer.

The parking area is ample there and boy did they need it. There was quite a few people there when I went. Lots and Lots of bikes, which I expected, but very few quads. I do understand that a lot of tracks don't even allow quads at this point in time, so it is great that they do. Marysville mx has 3 tracks. The one main track, which most of the bikes ride, the back track, which is where most quads ride, and the kid track.

The main track is pretty nice for a first timer. There are no real long straights so you wont be building a lot of speed up. I was in 3rd or 4th at best on the fastest spots, and 4th was very short in use. The dirt was pretty good, lots of sand mix and maintained very well. The jumps were all tabletops so I was not in fear of casing a jump and crashing, something that would have kept me from trying very hard at all. So being that they were tabletops even a first timer could get some good air. There was one whoop section that really sucked for quads, they were way too close together for us. I tried everything I could to get through these easier and nothing worked. The last one always got me. Lots of nice turns leading to jumps and flagmen were at every jump. A good place to try your hand at a mx track. The rules there are quads are only allowed on the main track every other half hour, and not at all in the opposing half hour. That is bike only. And yes bikes can ride during the quad time, and no you don't pay any less to get in. Bikes are also supposed to show respect to the quads during there half hour, but that doesn't happen. I had a kid pass me on a bike then get in front of me and let off the gas, I just about ran him over. I did hit his tire, but he didn't go down. Thank God! If you can go with a bunch of quad riders it is really fun when about 10 of you are out there together, you kind of take over the track and a lot of the bike riders take a break with that many quads on the track. The back track is much faster than the main track with no major jumps at all and a lot longer straights. This is a fun track also, where you can build a lot of speed up and a lot of sliding around turns. If a mx track is to intimidating, this will work for you. There is very few people on this track at any time so you don't have as many bikes to worry about. This is where I started the day, then as my confidence built I moved over to the main track. I had a blast on this track also. The only problem was that they kind of like to promote this as a quad track and it is not. It is a learning track for all and the condition on this track was poor. There were major rutting on some straights and on a few of the turns there was so much bad area that we cut new trail to get around it. All in all I still had fun, but they needed to put a little more work into this track. Being that we use this every other half hour, it should be maintained just like the main track. The kid track is an elongated oval with some bumps as jumps and boy those kids really fly down it. if you want your kid to learn something, put him or her out there and let um go. It looked like a lot of fun for a kid.

I would go back to marysville mx at this point in time, I had a great time and the track was good. the worst thing was trying to get the mud off after the ride, what do they mix it with....glue?!!!
